High Peak Radio's Public File

High Peak Radio is one of the success stories of the UK’s vibrant local broadcasting scene. Helping to maintain that success, the Office of Communications regulates what we do in the interests of High Peak people. As part of our commitment to Ofcom, we publish a ‘Public File’. Here it is!

News Bulletin Schedule High Peak Radio broadcasts hourly news bulletins 24 hours a day, plus at half past the hour during the weekday breakfast & drivetime shows.

Bulletins containing High Peak, UK and world news together with the latest weather information are broadcast from our studios in Chapel-en-le-Frith between 6.30am and 7pm weekdays, and between 7am and 1pm on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays.

Other bulletins of national and world news are syndicated and provided by Independent Radio News.

Recent News Stories Covered On Air We've followed the latest developments in the Federal Mogul pensions crisis, Public enquiry into Backdale Quarry and we recently covered the 50 year anniversary of the Chapel train crash.

To keep in touch with the latest local news, we strongly recommend you listen daily on 106.4, 103.3 or 106.6FM.

The Programme Schedule High Peak Radio's programme schedule can be found here

The average number of hours of automated programming within weekday daytimes and within daytimes on Saturdays and Sundays 3

The amount of local programming per day produced by the station As we have such a strong focus on the High Peak, almost all our output is locally produced and presented from our studios in Chapel-en-Frith or from outside broadcast locations across the High Peak. Our licence allows five hours a week of exceptions to this rule, notably including the hugely popular Hit 40 UK.

Ofcom Localness Guidelines Ofcom, the government regulator with responsibility for local radio, has produced localness guidelines that this station adheres to. These guidelines can be read here

In addition all local radio stations have written 'formats' that they must follow at all times. High Peak Radio's is unusual in that Ofcom's document (drawing on experience gained in more urban areas with more stations) seeks to invent a focus on 25-54 year-old listeners, whilst we have always aimed to serve the whole High Peak population. We promise to carry-on doing so! You can read our Format here

Station Contact Details We love hearing from our listeners! If you’d like to contact us for any reason, you can do so via email on info@highpeakradio.co.uk or by telephone on 01298 813144.

Recent Programme and/or News Highlights To be honest, most of our best stuff is on the radio rather than the web, but here are some of the more visual highlights
