Truly Local Radio on 106.4 & 103.3

Welcome to High Peak Radio!

High Peak Radio started broadcasting on April 4 2004. It is one of the few independent commercial stations in England not owned by a large media group, and is locally owned and managed. It was set up following a series of trial broadcasts starting in June 1999. Five broadcast groups made a bid to win the licence. We are the successful group.

To quote Chairman Clive Beattie, the station set out to be the High Peak's 'station of choice' by providing music, entertainment, news and information 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

From the first day of broadcast, it became clear that the team at High Peak Radio had hit upon a winning formula for the High Peak; at a time when many small commercial radio stations seemed to be heading in the opposite direction, High Peak Radio chose to include more local news, local information and features than the vast majority of radio stations of this size. And in doing so, the station developed a loyal and enthusiastic listenership which continues to this day.

The station has a management team of three executive directors. The day to day management of the station is the responsibility of Sales Director Paul Jenner, who has managed the station since launch. He is supported by his brother Steve, who is Operations Director and by Company Secretary and Technical Director Roger Price.

This team is advised and supported by the non – executive directors, Chairman Clive Beattie, Vice – Chair Jennie Ball, and directors Tim Oddy, Chris Carnegy and Bill Preece.

The broadcast team are amongst the best - known names - and voices - in the North West. You can read about them on the 'meet the team' pages.
